During the processing of our Kaolin products, the naturally occurring felspars are removed. The separation process results in the felspars being concentrated into the sand fraction of the kaolin by-products.

These sands have been used for many years by tile manufacturers to replace the silica sands and imported felspars which are usually incorporated into the tile formulation as two separate components. The natural variability of the sands and felspar mixture requires careful control, but significant economies have been achieved by tile manufacturers.
