Felspars

Felspar is a natural constituent of kaolinised granite. Our minerals naturally contain some felspar, which is normally removed during the production of kaolin products.

Due to careful selection of unkaolinised granite, we are able to produce the only commercially available felspar in the UK. China Stone, as it is commonly called, is one widely used by high quality bone china producers. felspars are also to be found in sand by-products. Careful selection allows these sands to be used within ceramic bodies replacing pure silica sands and imported felspars.

Goonvean produces felspar for the ceramics industry, as well as for use in leather tanning products, ultramarine blue, polishing compounds and friction parts. Depending on customer requirements, we will carefully select altered granites (ABRA products) and blend and mill them to your specifications. Just ask.
