As a long-established Cornish company, Goonvean cares about the local environment. For us, working with natural resources means using them wisely and maximising the potential of all mined materials.

We believe in protecting our natural surroundings at the same time as harnessing nature’s products to create jobs and make a positive contibution to Cornwall’s economy. To this end we work closely with mineral planners to develop sustainable mining plans. We also collaborate with English Nature to restore land after mining, and with English Heritage to assist in recording and safeguarding our mining heritage.

Goonvean also values the needs of the local community, so we are continually working to minimise the immediate impact of mining operations by addressing noise and traffic concerns, for example.

Goonvean’s shareholders have been an integral part of Cornwall’s rich landscape for over 400 years. The environment is in our blood and we are proud to continue to protect it.
